CYCLISTS are getting the chance to have their cycles postcoded free in a bid to stamp out thefts.
People living in Great Ayton can go along to the WI Hall, in Newton Road, with their cycles between 10am and 12.30am today.
Sgt Andrew Bright said the exercise was a joint venture between Great Ayton Neighbourhood Watch Group and North Yorkshire Police.
He said: "We suffer from quite a few bike thefts in the Great Ayton and Stokesley area and very few are recovered. That's due to the fact they are not postcoded.
