STUDENTS and lecturers from Teesside University have practised what they preach and made a splash for charity.
Sarah Johnson and Mary Van Loo, occupational therapists from the university, were joined by students Michelle Ashton, Vicky Norman and Sally Hall for the BT Swimathon.
The five each completed 20 lengths to raise more than £200 for the homeless charity, Shelter.
Ms Johnson said: "It makes a pleasant change to physically practise what we preach in the lecture theatre.
"Swimming is an acknowledged relaxation and stress-busting activity, which helps develop trust and confidence, spatial awareness and sensory integration.
"The fact that this activity has been in support of a good cause is an even better motivation to take up swimming."
