A NEW organisation designed to help everyone involved with mental health services is breaking new ground in the North-East and North Yorkshire.
The Northern Centre for Mental Health aims to help improve services by sharing knowledge, drawing on national resources and developing international links.
Funded by NHS trusts in the region, the centre has bases in Durham and York, and is closely linked with the Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health.
It will pioneer new forms of learning, disseminate good practice and help raise the profile and standards of mental health care throughout the region.
Chairman Steve Shrubb, chief executive of Northumberland Mental Health NHS Trust, said: "We want to help organisations grow local solutions by using best practice and harvesting national and local experiences.
