PREPARATIONS are under way for a live radio broadcast from the Teesside Steel Gala.
Throughout the day on Sunday, July 2, BBC Radio Cleveland will be presenting its shows from the gala at the Kirkleatham showground in Redcar.
As well as regular presenters Stewart McFarlane, Sue Sweeny and Mark Seaman, the first of this years Search for Talent shows will be live on air.
The finalists are country band Calico from Redcar, cabaret act Identity Crisis from Norton, soloist Justin Harvey from Ingleby Barwick and singer Leanne Baxter from Eston.
Over the summer there will be 18 talent finals with listeners picking a winner to headline a variety show at Middlesbrough theatre in November.
Events coordinator Kerry Sillett said: "The outside broadcasts are always enjoyable for everyone involved and its lovely to take the programme out to the people in our area.
"This year the Search for Talent shows promise to be really entertaining and a great opportunity to celebrate our local talent," she said.
