EXPERTS in domestic violence from the region could soon be travelling to Belfast to instruct the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
Representatives from the University of Teesside's Centre for Police Research and Education have been asked to present a domestic violence course in Belfast.
Officers from the RUC have attended courses at the university before but this is the first time the course would be delivered in Northern Ireland itself.
Centre director Colin Dunnighan said: "The course better equips officers to become involved in a multi-agency approach to something which isn't simply a policing problem."
Members of the Danish National Police came to the university recently to learn about intelligence gathering.
