Richmond Castle was awash with colour as costumed musicians and performers got together to present a musical history of England at the town's millennium festival.
English Heritage's Music Through the Ages show was followed by concerts from the Richmond school orchestra, and a live theatre premiere of The Hollow Crown from the town's amateur dramatic society.
The Market Square was also a festival venue for morris dancing and folk music, while the Friary Gardens staged Scottish dancing. Town councillor Stuart Parsons, one of the main organisers, said: "It is wonderful that so many groups and organisations have been willing to work together for this weekend.
