The Shildon R and AC hosted their first Stadium 2000 Primary Schools Track and Field Millennium Games on June 15 with over 120 children competing from eight schools in the area.

Heighington Primary were winners in the girls section with 103 points and runners-up were Shildon Timothy Hackworth with 100 points.

Ferryhill broom Cottages were winner sin the boys section with 107 points and runners-up were Heighington primary with 104 points. The winnings of the Combined event were Heighington Primary with 207 points, Ferryhill broom Cottages 185 points, Shildon Timothy Hackworth 173 points.
