Cyclists' favourite David Gray is giving a talk about Britain's new cycling network tomorrow.
The off-road expert will discuss the 10,000-mile national cycle route network, at Consett Library at 7.15pm.
A member of Sustrans, the charity responsible for many of the off-road cycle routes, he will speak of the new coastal cycleway between Sunderland and Consett and other routes in Derwentside.
Librarian Carol Attewell said of the national route : "The first 5,000 miles to be signed and mapped opened during National Bike Week last week and the next 5,000 are scheduled to be completed by 2005."
Tickets for the talk are free and available from Consett and Lanchester Libraries and the trailer library at Blackhill and Leadgate
