A COUNCIL is preparing to implement an initiative aimed at improving the quality of life for people living on its housing estates.
Sedgefield Borough Council has made £300,000 available for the scheme, which is due to begin later this year.
Residents are being invited to apply for cash to help their estate, provided they can demonstrated their schemes can contribute to improving the quality of life for residents.
The sort of schemes that might qualify for funding could include landscaping, fencing improvement, extra lighting or footpath provision.
Area forums in the Sedgefield borough are being invited to submit their views and proposals, and the first schemes could be implemented in September or October
