IT is every sports player's dream: to take on the cream of the crop in his or her chosen field.
Locals at a Spennymoor pub have the chance to fulfil that dream next month, when a famous figure from the world of darts pays a visit.
World darts champion Phil Taylor, nicknamed the Power from the Potteries, is taking on customers at The Wheatsheaf pub in the town's High Street before playing an exhibition match against Durham County players.
Landlord Alan Marr has scored a bulls-eye getting the famous arrows man to his pub.
He said: "This is a real coup for the pub to get such a prolific player here. My customers and I are really looking forward to the chance to meet someone that most fans only see on their televisions."
