A SECOND phase of roadworks is about to begin as part of a scheme to improve safety at a Hartlepool junction.
Works to replace the A689/Park Road/Huckelhoven Way roundabout with traffic lights began on June 12 and is due to last nine weeks.
From Saturday, Park Road will be closed between Silver Street and the A689, the A689 will be reduced to one lane in each direction and there will be a ban on right turns from the A689 northbound into Huckelhoven Way and from Huckelhoven Way on to the A689 northbound.
A council spokesman said: "We regret any inconvenience these measures cause, but would assure motorists they are necessary to carry out the works safely."
The scheme, which also involves construction of a new left turn filter lane from Huckelhoven Way on to the A689, is being carried out by contractors Cumbrian Industrials Ltd of Sedgefield.
