SOAP star Craig Fairbrass took to the airwaves with one of the region's most popular presenters yesterday.
Craig, who plays "Dirty'' Dan Sullivan in EastEnders, co-hosted the Goffy in the Morning breakfast show on Century Radio with Hartlepool-born Paul Gough.
Craig, who is leaving the popular BBC1 soap this week, is thinking of a career in radio but had never actually broadcast.
During the show he chatted to listeners and talked to Goffy about their appearance in Sunderland Empire Theatre's pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, at Christmas.
Craig said: "It was great fun. I've always fancied presenting on the radio, so when Goffy said he could sort it out for me to appear on Century I jumped at the chance. The listeners I spoke to were great fun - everyone in the North-East has made me feel really welcome."
Goffy said: "Craig was a natural - the Century listeners really warmed to him. We worked together really well so it will be great fun starring in panto together.
"Now he's left EastEnders there is definitely another career waiting for him on the radio. His smooth tones will make sure the women tune in."
