Widespread Sunday trading is planned in the centre of Sunderland from September, when the city's enlarged Bridges shopping centre, including a Debenhams department store, opens to the public.
Retailers agreed to the move at a recent City Centre Traders' Forum, with a range of entertainment and leisure planned to make Sunday a family day-out in the city
