MIDWIFE Marie Richards, from Sedgefield, is appealing for donations to help her provide a seat and a small garden in the town's cemetery, especially for those parents who have lost children before and after birth. She believes that parents would benefit from such a quiet area in helping with the grieving process.
Mrs Richards, of Bishop Auckland, will be enlisting the help of her father, Les Parish, the village gardener, in preparing the area.
Donations should be sent to Mrs Richards, c/o Sedgefield Town Council Office, Front Street, Sedgefield.
"I hope that we can make a start this summer and have it ready for the winter," she said.
