YOUNGSTERS have been given a millennium memento to mark their time at a primary school.
All 280 pupils at Applegarth Primary, Northallerton, have been given a millennium medallion, complete with an inscribed presentation box.
The presentation came at the end of a two-day celebration at the school, which also featured football and netball competitions, a barbecue and a Punch and Judy show.
Headteacher Al Procter said: "We tried to arrange the celebration for the exact middle of the school year.
"The medallion is so that they will remember where they were in the year 2000 - at Applegarth School.
