Eleven local candidates successfully completed a referees course held recently in the Northallerton area. Ian Austick, Mark Bell, Daniel Carrick, Alan Childs, Simon Cole, Martin Colley, Rober Farquhar, Andy Foster, Graham Hunt, Fiona Kinloch and Michael Morgan were presented with their referees certificates by Len Scott of North Riding Football Association.
Richard Salt of Northallerton was named Hambleton Combination referee of the year of 1999-2000 and Jim Wilson of Leyburn received the Northallerton Referees Association individual award.
Richard Salt, Paul Garthwaite and Chris Grant were promoted to Class 1 referees.
The annual meeting of the Northallerton and District Referees Society will be held at The Lodge, Leeming Bar, on Monday, August 7, at 6.45pm and will be followed immediately by the first monthly meeting of the season. All members are requested to attend.
