youngsters from three Stockton primary schools joined in sports hall athletics training as part of the Millennium Youth Games.
The ten and 11 year-olds from Tilery, Bowesfield and St Cuthbert's primary schools are joining in this year's games as part of a nationwide initiative funded by Sport England and sponsored nationally by the BAA.
They took part in running, jumping and throwing events in the training session on Wednesday at Stockton Sports Centre.
A squad was selected from the session to represent Stockton at the Teesside Millennium Youth Games, in Eston, on Saturday, July 8.
Rachel Walters, Stockton young person's development officer said: "The final preparations for the Millennium Youth Games are well under way, and the kids are getting excited to join in.
"Last year's games was a great success and we hope to build on that this time around."
More than 500 youngsters from Teesside are taking part in the Millennium Youth Games.
