ALDBROUGH ST. JOHN lost only one wicket in defeating Colburn who made129 for six in 40 overs.
Home side Aldbrough St John reached their target in 16 overs.
Nigel Gamblin hit three sixes and eight boundaries in an unbeaten 55 and Richard Shield was 72 not out with four sixes and nine fours.
Batting first Colburn were indebted to Graham Newton (43) and Ian Clarkson (31no) while for Aldbrough, Christopher Wilson claimed three for 39 in 13 overs.
Middleton St George lead the table following their 34 runs win in a low scoring game with Barton. Batting first, Middleton St George were all out for 79 as Frankland took six for 36 and Bell three for 26 but in response Barton could manage 45 as McKenna ripped through the innings, claiming seven for 20.
There was another low scoring game when Heighington hosted Gilling West who were dismissed for 56 by Boocock with five for 21 and Howard whose three wickets cost nine runs.
Heighington lost five wickets reaching their modest target, three of them to Harewood for three runs.
In contrast, Rockliffe Park realised 203 for six in defeating Eryholme by 71 runs. Pybus (79) and Foster (56no) were the main scorers for Rockliffe Park and Eyrholme were pegged to 131 for seven which included 37 by White and 36 not out from Harker. Foster (3-36) was the most productive of the Rockliffe Park attack.
Nelson top scored with 36 in Witton-le-Wear's 125 for six, a total which was overtaken by Barningham who had five wickets to spare as Stephenson carried his bat for 46.
Pool (51), Dent (31) and Brown (37) led Raby Castle to a match winning 161 for six at home to Weardale who were back in the pavilion for 105 when Jones captured five for 38 and Kavanagh three for 42.
In Division B, Haughton had one wicket to spare at home to Middleton- in-Teesdale. Faced with a target of 133, Haughton were indebted to useful performances from Armstrong, Barker and Vipond, who carried his bat for 27 at a crucial stage. Lee-Shield (4-57) and Coatesworth, whose five wickets cost 65 runs, were the bowlers who almost earned victory for Middleton.
Batting first, the visitors ended on 142 for four including 34 not out by Todd and 35 by man of the match Lee-Shield.
Nicholson scored 133 in Spennymoor's 219 for six at home to Cliffe, who put up a good batting performance scoring 186 for six. Hipkiss (41), Kenwick (44), Curry (30) and Bainbridge (30no) were the batsmen who kept Cliffe in with a chance.
Cockerton had 25 runs in hand of Brompton-on-Swale who, batting first, realised 191 for six with half-centuries from opening batsmen McGough and Moston while for Cockerton Lethbridge had four for 50.
Replying, Cockerton were all out for 166 which included a top scoring 41 by Lethbridge. Ian Thompson, with five for 24 and Leyburn with four for 56 were the bowlers who earned Brompton victory.
Dales bowled out Heighington for 86 when Lofthouse returned eight for 38. Batting first Dales realised 141 for seven with useful scores by Broadbent and Simpson.
Trimdon managed 178 against Ingleton. Stephen Gofton top-scored with a classy innings of 72, while Laundy, with five for 44, was the pick of the Ingleton attack. In reply, Easby (46) and Stokell (44) performed in Ingleton's 160 all out as Coughtrey and Carter both took five wickets.
Lands overtook the King James total of 144 for six with five wickets left as Elstob carried his bat for 88 after opening the innings. When King James made first use of the wicket and totalled 144 for six, most of the runs came from Rowley with 47 and Franklin (30)
