Brunton Cup
Seaton Carew had 3.3 overs and six wickets to spare when they defeated Great Ayton in the quarter finals.
Kevin Rowntree was their match winner with 45 while Simon Pennock scored 43 of Great Ayton's 111 for eight. Rowntree, John Tully and David Alsop all took two wickets for Seaton Carew.
Wolviston also enjoyed a comfortable victory when they hosted Barnard Castle with Mike Gough top scoring on 28 and Mark Criston adding 24 to Wolviston's 133 for eight before Barnard Castle were reduced to 117.
Preston romped to victory at Nunthorpe. They reached their target of 90 in only 13.2 of the 25 overs and had eight wickets left as Brown carried his bat for 27 and Johnson contributed 35.
Batting first, Nunthorpe were all out in 24.3 overs for 89 following a partnership of 50 between Mark O'Donoghue (23) and Richie Robertson (30).
The top score in the four quarter final ties was by James Warburton who ended undefeated on 55 in Yarm's seven wickets victory at home to Bedale who batted first and totalled 113 for six including a half century from Andy Clapham who was on 51 when dismissed.
In the semi-finals, Wolviston are at home to Preston while Yarm take on Seaton Carew. Ties are to be played on July 7.
Boddington's Durham
Coast League
Hylton and Murton produced an exciting match when they met in Division Three with Murton edging the result by nine runs.
Batting first, the visitors posted 119 for eight even though Archbald took three for 31 in the Hylton attack. Replying, Hylton ended on 110 for two with Vasey ending unbeaten on 39 while Waldron contributed 49 not out.
Mark Oliver scored 66 and Neil Old 44 no in Peterlee's 119 for two at home to South Hetton who managed 99 for eight as Ian Turnbull took four for 28.
Ian Dawson scored more than half his side's runs when he finished undefeated on 48 in Ryhope's total of 81 for five. Easington won by eight wickets when Tommy Fenwick carried his bat for 44.
Gary Cunliffe, with three wickets for seven, was the top wicket taker as Silksworth were dismissed for 29 by Seaham Park who won with nine wickets to spare.
McGee scored a fine 85 in Castle Eden's 137 for four and in reply Marsden put up a superb performance but fell three runs short of victory when they totalled 135 for six.
There was no play in the Dawdon v Bill Quay and Boldon CA v Houghton matches.
Bob Hay Cup
Etherley romped home in the 3-D Cricket Durham County League Bob Hay Junior Cup with a 105 runs victory at home to Coundon. The home team's innings featured a magnificent contribution of 95 not out by Craig Armstrong who recorded 18 boundaries.
Coundon were all out for 59 with the top contribution being 17 extras while Etherley's Chris Renshaw claimed three wickets for nine runs, James Armstrong took two for nine and David Elstob two for eight.
Brandon went through at the expense of Tudhoe, Peter Johnson their match winner capturing two wickets for 24 when Tudhoe totalled 81 for seven which included 341 by Tim Smalley with five fours, and 20 from Andrew Beamson.
Johnson then went to work with the bat as he stroked seven fours in an undfeated 46 as Brandon won, losing just one wicket.
Simon Rafferty, with three for 11, Gary Clarke (3-7) and Darren Gill, whose two wickets cost 11 runs, bowled Ushaw Moor to a seven wickets success at Langley Park who were all out for 54.
Evenwood had 27 runs to spare on their visit to Esh Winning who replied with 102 for nine including 43 by Edward Watson. Kevin Watson bowled a good line and length in the Evenwood attack and was well worth his figures of five for 27 from five overs.
When they made first use of the wicket Evenwood ended with 129 for four on the board which included 53 by Kevin Watson and 43 from Chris Howe. Martin Shoulder and Mark Davison both picked up a couple of wickets for Esh Winning.
An unbeaten 59 by Paul Freary was the highlight of Darlington RA's big win at home to Shildon who were all out for 60 in reply to RA's 124 for three.
Durham Senior League U15s
Chester-le-Street were all out for 41 when they hosted Gateshead Fell at Ropery Lane. Richie Smith was the destroyer as he claimed four wickets for ten runs in five overs and James Costello added an impressive five overs spell yielding two for 17.
Replying, Gateshead Fell romped to a ten wickets win as Johnny Foster carried his bat for 23 and Richie Smith finished unbeaten on 16.
Durham City were all out for 48 when Craig Cowen and Paul Riddle both captured three cheap wickets for Hetton Lyons who, batting first, made 92 which included a top scoring 21 by Paul Riddle.
David Lowther, with an excellent innings of 42, steered Eppleton to a nine wickets success at Whitburn for whom Ian Elliott scored half his side's total of 66 for two, remaining 33 not out.
Mark Turner produced a magnificent unbeaten century and Ali Omir scored 45 in Boldon's 172 for three at home to Philadelphia who were then pegged to 98 for five including 24 by Darren Parker. Anthony Buck bowled a good end for Boldon claiming three wickets for 31 runs.
Saikat Sarkar was in form with both bat and ball when South Shields defeated Sunderland by nine wickets. Sunderland batted first and posted 72 for eight with most of the runs coming courtesy of Stuart Ferguson with 30 while Shields' Sarkar took two for 13 and Jude two for 20.
Responding, Shields had no difficulty reaching their modest target as Sarkar top scored with 32 and Paul Craig added an undefeated 28.
3-D Cricket Durham County League U-18
Paul Caulfield hit three sixes and five boundaries in 60 and Michael White had a couple of sixes and four fours in 57 when Langley Park reached the formidable total of 141 for four at home to Mainsforth who managed just 88 for five in reply.
Coundon totalled just 57 for seven as Ian Corrick took three for 18 in five overs and Mark Davison had two for seven also from a five over spell but when they responded Esh Winning managed just 52 for the loss of two wickets and Coundon won by the narrow margin of five runs. Martin Shoulder kept Esh Winning in the game hitting an unbeaten 23 including four boundaries.
Darren Gill took three for 11 and Gary Clark three for 28 when Ushaw Moor restricted Brandon to 77 but when they went into bat the visitors were all out for 61 as Paul Johnson captured five wickets for a megre ten runs in four overs and Stephen Tomkins had three for ten from five overs.
Crook Town had six wickets to spare defeating Tudhoe when Gareth Underwood carried his bat for 27 and both Andrew Guy and Michael Buston both scored 18. Batting first, Tudhoe totalled 86 for four with most of the runs coming from Tim Smalley with 45.
Dix with a top scoring 35 steered Sedgefield to 96 for six before Darlington RA were restricted to 82 for seven mainly by the bowling of Provet and Flockett, who both picked up two cheap wickets. Andrew Russell top performed with 41 runs for RA.
Evenwood and Etherley both scored 106 in an exciting game. McMahon (55) and Coatesworth (21) lifted Evenwood to 106 for six with four of the wickets falling to Armstrong for just 21 runs.
Although Chris Renshaw carried his bat for 33, Ashley Raine contributed 21 and Richard Balmer 20, Etherley ended on 106 for five as Howe took two wickets for 24 runs.
George Mann Cup
Tow Law Black Horse played two games last week in the competition sponsored by Weardale Steel and showed much improved form on their earlier outings as they won one and made a very creditable showing in the other.
Crook Golden Fleece batted first against the Black Horse and lost their early wickets cheaply. However, with the score at 13 for 3, M Sanderson began the revival with 22 and this was continued with March on 13 and K. Sanderson on 19. But the Horse bowlers persevered and eventually dismissed the Fleece for 108.
The Horse's reply started disastrously as Hird was run out with only three on the board. However, Craggs and Nicholson stayed at the wicket for 20 and 21 respectively but the scoring fell well behind the required rate. Fowler (14) and Graham (10) continued with a slightly increased rate but the overs were completed with the score on 79 for 4.
In contrast, Black Horse played Sunniside Comedian to decide the last quarter finals place. The Horse batted first and made another slow start but did not lose wickets too quickly. Craggs (21), Hird (21) and Nicholson (20) took them to 75 for 3 before quick runs near the end pushed the score to 108 for 7.
The Comedian made an excellent start as they reached 27 from the first four overs. J. Burke made 21 and Bell (12) to be followed by Umpelby with 11 as the Horse showed signs of panic in the field. But wickets tumbled and The Comedians were all out for 67.
