CHILDREN are hoping for some furry visitors to their school garden.
Year Two pupils at West Cornforth Primary School were given equipment to help attract wildlife into their school garden.
Robin Laycock, an engineering lecturer at Bishop Auckland College, visited the school to talk about conservation, as part of a college programme of environmental projects in the community.
He took along bird boxes, a bat box and bee box and explained to the children why it was important to look after wildlife. The children placed the boxes in the garden.
A school spokeswoman said: "The children are very keen to learn about helping wildlife and Robin really spurred their interest, we will be keeping our fingers crossed the boxes will be inhabited soon."
