AN ambulance answering an emergency call was in collision with a car at one of County Durham's busiest crossroads yesterday.
The crash, at Bishop Auckland, caused disruption after traffic lights at Woodhouse Lane were put out of action. No one was badly hurt.
Police diverted rush-hour drivers as queues built up on all four roads leading to the junction, until emergency lights were brought in last night
