DANCING Queens from across Teesside took picnics, flares and big hair to a sell-out special outdoor concert featuring ABBA tribute band Bjorn Again.
More than 7,000 people packed into the grounds of Ormesby Hall and were treated to five hours of seventies tribute bands before the Australian band took to the stage.
By the time they kicked off their performance with Waterloo, the support acts had succeeded in creating a great party atmosphere.
The relaxed atmosphere of this event was aided by the differing age groups and the costumes - everyone was there to enjoy the music and pay homage to one of the greatest pop acts ever.
Bjorn Again gave a good performance, but when tickets cost from £17 to £20, you couldn't help wishing they were on stage a bit longer.
When the gates had opened at 5pm and the main band did not come on stage until 10pm the build-up had been immense, but the band seemed to finish too quickly.
A nice finishing touch was a classical music and fireworks display.
