DETECTIVES are hunting three youths in connection with an indecent assault on a 12-year-old girl, in Darlington.
The girl was attacked walking in Cobden Street, near its junction with Eastbourne Road, at 8.20pm on Monday, June 19.
Two of the youths were sitting on cycles, one a green Raleigh mountain bike and the other a yellow BMX. One of those two knocked the girl to the ground, and the second one indecently assaulted her.
The youth who carried out the assault is described as being white, aged 15 to 17, with short dark hair, heavy build, wearing a stone-coloured Ellesse jacket, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and a red polo shirt.
Detective Constable Chris Ashford, of Darlington CID, said: "The girl was left badly shaken as a result of the attack and is now receiving the necessary help and support."
