A MUSIC extravaganza is being held at a Teesside school this week from morning until night.
The Music Marathon Day, which is being held on Thursday, in the senior hall of Teesside High School, Eaglescliffe, is being held to raise funds for music technology equipment in the senior department, and additional percussion instruments in the junior department.
Susanne Lloyd-Jones, head of music at the school, said that all the pupils are being asked to find sponsors for the day-long event.
She said: "We have been rehearsing very hard indeed for this exciting event, which will include all types of music, from popular to folk, classical and jazz, with solos, ensembles and large choirs and orchestras all striking a chord to raise cash for this venture.
"Everyone has entered into the event with great enthusiasm, and one of the highlights is a performance of Hadyn's Toy Symphony by the staff, who have had to work just as hard as the pupils."
The event runs from 9am to 3.45pm, and the celebration concert is at 7pm.
Admission to both is free.
