A crime-busting scheme has improved its system of communications by taking delivery of seven mobile radios.
The Wensleydale section of Daleswatch has been given the new equipment by the Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership. The Daleswatch group is made up of local farmers who regularly patrol the Yorkshire Dales throughout evenings and into the early hours of the morning.
Volunteers had previously reported any suspicious activity to police through mobile phones, but the remote terrain made the process difficult.
The new radios will be carried both by volunteer patrols and local police, allowing for an improved two-way flow of information.
