YOUNGSTERS have been given a Millennium memento to mark their time at a primary school.
All 280 pupils at Applegarth Primary in Northallerton have been given a special Millennium medallion, complete with an inscribed presentation box. The presentation came at the end of a two-day celebration at the school, which also featured football and netball competitions, a barbecue and a Punch and Judy show.
Head teacher Al Procter said: "We tried to arrange the celebration for the exact middle of the school year.
"And the medallion is so they will remember where they were in the year 2000, at Applegarth School."
