THE results of a consultation exercise which will help to shape the future of Hartlepool's Headland will be announced later this month.
The findings will help determine how £7.2m of Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) money awarded by the Government last year will be used.
The research will also help to direct the use of a further SRB award of up to £10m, if the funding is approved later this month.
A wide cross-section of residents and employers on the Headland have been asked for views and opinions, and to identify needs, which could be tackled by projects.
The consultation was commissioned last December by the North Hartlepool Partnership, which is spearheading work to breathe new life into the area.
The main strands of the consultation included a survey of employers, workshops for young people and a questionnaire among residents.
A series of workshops were also held to identify issues and problems, and to help residents to think up positive solutions.
The consultation was done by local groups including Headland Town Council, Headland Carnival Association, Crimebusters, West View Employment Centre and Headland Link.
Public meetings are being held to report back to residents of the Headland on the findings of the survey.
They will take place on Monday, July 10, at Anchor Court, Durham Street, from 11.30am to 1.30pm, and on Tuesday, July 18, at St Helen's Primary School, Durham Street, from 6pm to 8pm.
