A PROMISING musical star became the voice of Proms in the Park yesterday when she gave an impromptu concert in an open-top car.
Anna Huntley, a member of Tees Valley Youth Choir, performed outside the Cleveland Centre, in Middlesbrough, to promote the Teesside Proms in the Park event to be held in August. Anna, 18, started singing when she was just six and was discovered by the Proms in the Park team.
She has gone on to train at the Royal Academy of Music in London and her voice has appeared in a number of television programmes.
Egglescliffe Comprehensive pupil Anna, who travelled in an open-top classic Bentley, said: "I am honoured at being asked to sing in association with the Proms.
"The event is a wonderful way of making all kinds of music accessible to everyone, especially classical music."
Proms in the Park 2000 takes place in Stewart Park on August 26.
