MORE than 2,000 final year primary school pupils from across the diocese of Durham attended the annual Church of England Schools' services at Durham Cathedral, over two days last week.
Each school group paraded into the cathedral behind their home-made banners before the services, this year on the theme of 'Promises,' looking to the future for the children of the new Millennium.
Both services were taken by the Bishop of Jarrow, the Right Rev Alan Smithson, while the Ian Ramsey CE Comprehensive School at Stockton provided the orchestral and singing accompaniment.
