Darlington professional John Glendenen has a star-studded line-up for his six-a-side benefit event at Feethams on Sunday.

Glendenen, the former Durham county player, also plays for Cumberland in the Minor Counties Championship and among the stars turning out will be teammate Marcus Sharpe, the former Lancashire player who is professional with Blackpool.

Closer, to home, Stockton professional Dawnley Joseph is expected to play in one of the teams and other professionals giving their support to Glendenen will be Henderson Bryan from Middlesbrough, Paul Thomas of Darlington RA, Steve Chapman (Bishop Auckland), Umar Rashid (Richmond) and Redcar's Australian pair Mark Higgs, professional and youngster Mark Cosgrove along with Tony Booth of Blackhall.

Glendenen said: "We have held a sixes tournament in the past and they are usuall good days. But this year I have got several professionals to play and hopefully we will have a good day - and it would be nice if the sun shone."
