An appeal to raise £35,000 for an eye laser at Bishop Auckland General Hospital has received a £2,000 boost thanks to the success of a golfing tournament.
Patients currently travel to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment, but it is hoped waiting times will be cut if Bishop Auckland General Hospital raises enough money for its own laser.
Barnard Castle Golf Club gave free use of their course for the tournament.
