GOAL-GETTER Jason Mumford received the top goal-scorer trophy at the Annfield Plain AFC awards night on Saturday. Jason received the award for his 31 goals in 30 games. In his two years with the club he has scored a total of 59 goals in 59 appearances.
Brian Cater was voted the players' player of the year and club chairman Frank Ross said: "He thoroughly deserved it."
Also receiving awards was Australia-bound Leigh Fearn, who was voted supporters' and club officials' player of the year.
There was also a special award for club secretary Marshall Lawson, who received the Nissan Wearside League club secretary award. This was the first time Lawson had won the award in his 30 years at the club.
Lawson made his name as a footballer with South Shields, Consett and Annfield Plain, his home town.
