THE anxious family of a six-year old girl given just eight weeks to live will today bring to Chester-le-Street their campaign to find a donor who could save her life.

A bone marrow transplant is the only chance for Molly-Ann Barnett, who suffers from a rare form of leukaemia,

Two months ago her family were organising a champagne celebration to mark the end of chemotherapy treatment.

But on the day the tubes were due to be taken from her arms it was discovered the cancer had returned.

Friends and relatives have all failed to match her blood and tissue group and now they've been forced to widen their search. As part of the huge campaign started by Molly-Ann's anxious family to find a life saver, they will hand out leaflets to cricket fans gathering for the England versus West Indies one-day match at Chester-le-Street's Riverside ground.

After five sessions of chemotherapy at St James's Hospital in Leeds, Molly cannot stand more treatment.

If a donor is not found soon she will lose her battle against acute myeloid leukaemia,

Her parents Paul and Mandy, of Hassle, near Hull, last night made a direct appeal to the nation to help save their daughter. Paul, 43, said: "Someone out there can save my little girl's life.
