FUN-loving mongrel Roly needs a new boss who can match him in energy and zest for life.
The jet black cross between a Great Dane and a labrador was taken in by the Eldon Hope rescue centre, near Bishop Auckland, County Durham, when he grew too big and boisterous for his owner. Now, he is well trained and obedient and kennel owner Alex Winwood said he would make a good family pet. She said: "He is 17 months old, so he is still young and he needs somebody who can control him.
"He is extremely affectionate and extremely boisterous. He is just a normal fun-loving dog.
"He is bigger than a labrador, so he must have somebody who can master him and be the boss, otherwise he would rule the roost."
Mrs Winwood added that the future of the centre was secure, despite some people hearing the contrary. She said: "We have been here for 19 years and we will continue to be here. After that, there will always be somebody here to continue our work."
