IT will be a case of the bride and vroom when Paula Green has her marriage blessed on Saturday.
For the water sports fan will be joining her new husband, and the clergyman who married them, on jet skis, for a somewhat unusual ceremony.
Paula and Colin Green had a register office wedding a few weeks ago, but are having a blessing in church on Saturday, followed by one on water at the Tees Barrage, Stockton.
One of the reasons the couple, who are both members of the Tees Personal Watercraft Club, are having the blessing is to highlight the fourth round of the British Jet Ski Championships, taking place at the barrage on Saturday and Sunday.
Paula, 31, said: "The Reverend Paul Walker from St Mary's Church, in Norton, has been a great sport. Having blessed our marriage in church, he has agreed to join us on a jet ski, proving he is a thoroughly modern vicar."
The pair, from Stockton, will not be able to wear full bridal dress whilst on the skis due to safety requirements, but Paula plans to wear a veil, donated by Brides of Yarm, so she will not ruin her own. Colin, 39, will wear a jacket and bow-tie.
Colin said: "We thought this would be a really good idea because it is different and highlights the championships taking place.
"It will also be nice that other members of the club can be there to see us."
The championship event will take place at the Tees Barrage, from 10am to 4pm on both days.
