TEENAGER Scott Sweeney was the envy of his friends at the weekend, when he rode home on a free mountain bike.
Scott, 13, of Woodvale Road, Darlington, won the £189 imported Adirondacki mountain bike in a competition at the Iron Horse Cyclery, in Clark's Yard, in the town.
Scott's name was picked from at least 400 entries in a prize draw made last week.
He collected his prize bike on Saturday.
Shop owner Ivan Pratt struggled to find a famous name to make the draw, so he persuaded his mother, Anne Pratt, to dress up as Tina Turner to do the honours.
Scott, a Hummersknott Comprehensive School pupil, said that he desperately wanted a new bike.
He said: "It's great, and I've been out on it all the time. I only had a little green old one before, but I've been showing my new one to all my friends."
