A GROUP of people with learning disabilities from Teesdale have received national certificates to mark the successful completion of a music course.
The 14, who go to County Durham Care's day centres for adults with learning disabilities, have been attending a music appreciation course since April.
The course, which is run by Learning First as part of the Open College Network, involved listening to different types of music and learning about them.
For many, their achievements were especially impressive because it is the first time they had completed a college course.
The 14 who attended the course were: Louise Bussey, Margaret Dent, Katherine Ebdon, Jenny Gowling, John Hobson, Colin Heaviside, Heather Linsley, Yvonne Mitchell, Carol Nodding, Graham Shields, Michael Stewart, John Wearmouth, Christopher Turner and Derek Deacon.
