TWO County Durham women are celebrating bingo wins of more than £125,000 at the same club.
Both winners have asked not to be named, but last night spoke of their delight at landing the big prizes in the National Bingo Game at the Gala Bingo Club in Skinnergate, Darlington.
One, a retired 58-year-old from the town, scooped £50,000 in the national game on Saturday, plus the regional prize of £2,335 and the house prize of £57.
"When I shouted, I was pleased with the house prize, then when everyone began clapping I realised how much I had won and was reduced to tears," she said.
When her husband picked her up she just showed him the £57.
"I didn't tell him I had won the national prize as well until I got home - in case he crashed the car."
She hasn't been able to sleep since.
Two weeks earlier a 41-year-old nurse from Hurworth had called in 41 numbers on the national game and shared a £200,000 prize with two other players in Norwich and Dewsbury.
Bolstering the £66,666 prize was a regional prize of £6,347 and the house prize of £140.
She and her husband, a service technician, have a son and three daughters aged 17,14, 12 and ten.
The lucky winner plans to share the money with the two friends, both from Hurworth, with whom she plays.
She also hopes to take the family to Disney World in Florida, buy a car and things for the house, and put some away for the children.
