THE North's largest agricultural show is celebrating another massive public show of support for the industry.
Crowds of more than 120,000 flocked to the Great Yorkshire Show at Harrogate last week.
Show organisers said that the overall turnout was expected to be on a par with last year's attendance of 122,448.
The hugely successful agricultural fair, which this year introduced a series of hi-tech initiatives, ended with a spectacular cavalcade of 360 foxhounds in the main ring.
The close of the event also saw the changing of the presidency of the show's organisers, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.
Outgoing president Warren Fenwicke-Clennell stepped down by handing over the crook of office to Lord Gisborough.
One of the most remarkable stories was that of a prize-winning goat. After two recent brushes with death, Peter Copeland's animal may have been forgiven for not being on top form.
But the five-year-old British Sannane was named champion goat, completing a remarkable hat-trick of titles at the event.
