MOBILE phone giant Orange has announced a three-year reciprocal agreement with Telecoms group Energis.
The agreement is the first of its kind entered into by Orange and will enable Energis to offer their own branded mobile services over the Orange network.
The agreement adds a complementary dimension to Energis, enabling it to provide integrated fixed and mobile services to its existing business customers.
A reciprocal clause will allow Orange access to Energis' state-of-the-art national network, and will enable it to re-sell a number of Energis' fixed-voice, data and Internet services to its customer base.
Orange will benefit from a new revenue stream from Energis Mobile customers, as well as reciprocal access to a number of Energis services.
Chief executive of Orange, Hans Snook said: "This is a land-mark agreement for Orange in two important respects.
"It is the first agreement of its kind on the DN1800 service and, for the first time, Orange has the opportunity to add a fixed-line dimension to its wirefree services.
"The agreement is a win-win situation for both Orange and Energis. Energis will be able to offer mobile solutions to its business customers under its own brand, and Orange will gain access to important revenue from this valuable corporate segment."
