AN England international table tennis player is visiting Delves Lane Village hall, near Consett, to show off his talents in an exhibition match next week.
Daniel Welsh, 17, from Newton Aycliffe, will take part in the match on Wednesday, to demonstrate the sport to local children.
The exhibition match is part of an effort by community workers at the hall to encourage children to take up the sport. The game will begin at 10.15am and there will be a training day at the centre at 10am the following Satur-day. If there is enough interest community workers will consider setting up regular table tennis sessions for youngsters aged bet-ween eight and 16.
Daniel represented England under 19s at an international Isle of Man competition recently
