NEW professional David Towse made his debut for Guisborough on Saturday.
He soon made his presence felt with an impressive six for 37 bowling return in their nine-wicket victory.
Overnight rain made it difficult for batting as Bishops found when asked to bat first. The visitors struggled to 90 for nine in 50 overs with their professional, former Durham County player Steve Chapman hitting 42 of them.
David Towse bowled unchanged in his 25 overs, nine of them maidens, as he claimed six for 37 and Graham Shaw two for 12.
Guisborough had no problem in reaching the target, losing just the one wicket, that of Saul Clifford for 30. Graham Shaw remained undefeated with 45 and with Phil Ramage not out 15, Guisborough earned a convincing nine-wicket victory.
On Sunday, Guisborough travelled to Glasgow, where they had a ten-wicket victory over West of Scotland in the sixth round of the National Club Championship.
Guisborough are away to Darlington RA tomorrow
