A CLASSIC North-East folk band is making its first CDs available to children in the Redcar area.
The Fettlers have been playing for nearly 40 years, and in recognition of their achievement, have produced a CD of some of their songs.
Front man Stewart McFarlane said since the band began members had written songs reflecting life in the North-East: "These have been especially popular in schools, with many generations of children learning about their cultural heritage through singing our songs."
The CD called Noting the Changes was supported by National Lottery Arts for All funding and will be available to the public later in the year.
The first batch will be distributed to 68 schools in Redcar and Cleveland by the council's education department.
