A Darlington school opened its doors to a group of pensioners this week.
Elderly people from Darlington were entertained by girls from Polam's lower sixth form, after invitations for the Sunshine Party were distributed by Darlington Town Mission.
The visitors had afternoon tea and were entertained by the girls before rounding off the afternoon with a short service and hymns.
Headteacher Helen Hamilton said, "The girls worked very hard to ensure everything went well for their guests, organising the whole afternoon themselves. The pensioners were very appreciative and an excellent afternoon was had by everyone.
