BRAVE dog lover Lissie Laws will go to any lengths to save the life of her beloved pooch, Clementine.
For the determined factory trainer, from Barton-le-Willows, near Malton, North Yorkshire, will be taking on a parachute jump to raise money for a life-saving operation for her golden retriever.
The 10,000ft jump will take place in August, at Scunthorpe, and Lissie has already managed to raise £500, half of the cost of the operation.
She said: "By being attached to an instructor it means I can jump 7,000ft higher than would otherwise be the case. This way, I get to do some freefall before the parachute opens."
Lissie needs to raise a total of £1,000 to fund an operation to remove a tumour at the back of one of Clementine's eyes.
The operation will involve surgeons taking out the eye and removing the tumour, before replacing the eye.
Lissie said: "That way, Clem-entine will keep her sight. If left untreated, she could lose her sight or the cancer could spread throughout the body."
Anyone wishing to sponsor Lissie, who works in the ham slicing section of Malton Bacon Factory, North Yorkshire, can contact her on (01653) 618918.
