YOUNG swimmers made a splash to take the medals in an inaugural schools competition.
The eight-strong team at Applegarth Primary beat off competition from 14 other schools in the Northallerton area to take the title in the Northallerton Swimming Gala.
The schools staged the first in what is intended to be an annual event earlier this month.
The Applegarth team, made up of Neil Wilson, James Cochrane, Richard Calvert, Andrew Lagan, Adele Carmichael, Rebecca Robinson, Scarlett Crow and Hannah Matthews, all received medals.
Head teacher Al Procter said: "We go swimming every week and everybody gets an opportunity throughout the year. We are delighted to have won."
