POET Laureate Andrew Motion will be performing a new version of a classic work as part of an international festival tonight.
The poet will take part in a candlelit concert at St Wilfrid's Church in Harrogate in an adaptation of Haydn's Seven Last Words from the Cross.
The performance is part of the Harrogate International Festival, with music interspersed with literary meditations.
Festival director William Culver Dodds said: "It is a privilege to welcome Andrew Motion as a key part of the festival's programme."
The festival starts at 8.30pm and the poet will also be visiting Harrogate bookshop Hammicks, from 4pm to 4.30pm.
