PLANS for a new police station in Spennymoor are likely to be approved tomorrow.
Consideration of the scheme was delayed after an objection was received over access to the proposed site in Wesleyan Road.
Managers at John Willetts Stonecraft, on the nearby Cambridge Street Industrial Estate, feared large vehicles entering the factory could clash with those entering and leaving the new police station.
Modified plans have been drawn up to address the issue.
Although some concerns remain, planning officers at Sedgefield Borough Council will recommend permission is granted at tomorrow's meeting of the development control committee.
The new station is planned to replace the existing one in Dundas Street, which is small and obsolete.
