TWO sisters-in-law were cleared yesterday of an attack on a woman in a pub.
Lisa Rudd and Jacqueline Rudd had denied assaulting Sandra Grant, 44, in Bianco's in Stockton. Mrs Grant had claimed she had been dragged to the floor and assaulted.
Yesterday a jury at Teesside Crown Court acquitted the two, Lisa Rudd, 30, of Milford Road, Norton Grange, and Jacqueline Rudd, 36, of Rampside Avenue, Roseworth, both Stockton, of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Jacqueline Rudd said she knew Mrs Grant through work, where there had been an incident between them.
She said Mrs Grant had approached her in Bianco's and slapped her. Mrs Rudd said she grabbed her and punched her a few times but was just defending herself.
