THE opening of a computer technology centre is a step closer now a manager has been appointed.
Bishop Auckland College's DigitalFactory, in Newton Aycliffe, will provide training in design technology for the manufacturing industry and give the public access to the latest technology.
Rod Russell, from Tyneside, has been appointed manager of the facility.
IBM has contributed £1m of software to the project, which has also been supported by Sedgefield Borough Council and South West Durham Training.
